Cynthia Madansky

Cynthia Madansky is a visual artist, graphic designer, and independent filmmaker.  In 1995, she made two short films: Internal Combustion, in collaboration with Alisa Lebow; and We at Her; she also completed an installation On the Jewish Question. Madansky worked for the Lesbian AIDS Project at GMHC for two years, where she designed and co-wrote the acclaimed Lesbian Safer Sex Handbook. Madansky is a graduate of the Whitney Independent Study Program and completed her MFA at Rutgers University.  Madansky and Lebow also collaborated on Treyf (1998), a feature film about growing up in families of four daughters in Jewish suburban America, meeting and falling in love at a queer Passover Seder, and much more.
