Nurit Sharett

Nurit Sharett was born in 1963, Israel, and currently lives and works in Tel Aviv. She is a video artist who studied photography and film studies at Camera Obscura--School of Art (Tel-Aviv), at the Gruppe fuer Autodidaktische Fotografie Zuerich, and in Beit Berli--College for Art (Israel). After an 11-year period in Switzerland, Nurit returned back to Israel. Her work examines in a very poetic and personal way the complexity of life in Israel and issues of identity politics. She has exhibited internationally, and has received an award from the Alter-Native 12 International Short Film Festival, Targu-Mures, Romania, and an award from EuromedCafe, "another look" Short Film Contest, Rome, Italy.
