The Video Data Bank Screening Room is free and open to the public by appointment. To schedule viewing time please call 312.345.3550 or email our Distribution Manager with the following information:

We will respond in order to confirm your viewing appointment. The screening room can fit 4-5 guests comfortably. If you are planning to have your students visit the VDB as part of their course projects, please contact us so we can work with you to facilitate access.
The VDB is located in a School of the Art Institute building, and campus security will ask guests to provide a photo ID for building entry. 112. S. Michigan Avenue is located directly across from the Art Institute of Chicago Museum entrance, and is between Adams Street and Monroe Street.

The VDB Offices and Screening Room are open Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Central Time Zone), year-round.
• Each booking can be a maxiumum duration of two hours, unless a research exception is granted.
• The screening room will be held open for no longer than fifteen minutes after your allocated start time. If you are running late please call us.
• If possible, please select in advance which titles you wish to view. We cannot guarantee works will be available if you make your choice on the day of viewing
• Please leave the screening room tidy, with all equipment and lights switched off as a courtesy to the next person using the room.
