Matt Wolf is a filmmaker in New York. His critically acclaimed and award-winning feature documentary Wild Combination, about the avant-garde cellist and disco producer Arther Russell, premiered at the Berlin Film Festival and played in over 60 international film festivals, museums, and cinemas (Edinburgh, AFI Silverdocs, IFC Center, MoMA, ICA London) and was included on a number of "Top 10" lists (Artforum, SF Bay Guardian, LA Weekly). The film was released theatrically in the US and UK, distributed worldwide by Plexifilm, and was broadcast on the Sundance Channel.
Matt is currently completing Teenage, a feature documentary about the invention of teenagers, based on a book by the author Jon Savage. The film is produced by Cinereach Productions.
Matt has created award-winning short documentaries for numerous outlets, including The New York Times, The Sundance Channel, and PBS. His latest film, I Remember: A Film About Joe Brainard, commissioned by The Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College is exhibiting nationally (The Kitchen, Liverpool Biennial, Lincoln Center, BAM, Berkeley Art Museum).
Matt is a Guggenheim Fellow, and was named one of the "25 New Faces of Independent Film" by Filmmaker Magazine.
