The 50th New York Film Festival opens tomorrow, and as always, we're looking forward to the festival sidebar that features work from the frontiers of innovative moving image making, Views from the Avant-Garde.
This year's Views, curated by Mark McElhatten and Gavin Smith and running October 4 through October 8, showcases a number of new and retrospective videos by VDB artists: Bobby Abate, Peggy Ahwesh, Kevin Jerome Everson, Joe Gibbons, Dani Leventhal, Michael Robinson, Semiconductor, John Smith and Deborah Stratman. If you are in New York, these 5 days at the NYFF50 are not to be missed!
