Los Angeles-based filmmaker Cauleen Smith made her feature film debut with Drylongso (1998). She has also made experimental videos, installations, and several film shorts, including Daily Rains (1990), Chronicles of a Lying Spirit by Kelly Gabron (1992), and The Changing Same (2001). Cauleen Smith received her MFA in Film from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1998. She has been a Board Member of the Independent Feature Project - West, since 2000, and was on the Board of Directors of the Film Arts Foundation, San Francisco from 1994-1997. In 1999 she was selected as one of Ten Directors to Watch by Variety magazine.
