Between the Frames, Chapter 5: The Docents

Between the Frames is a series that offers a glimpse into contemporary history that is already past, a portrait of personalities and opinions shaping what and how art reaches a public forum.

Although it appears sequentially as Chapter 5 in the series, The Docents was the first episode completed for this project. In this installment, museum tour guides share their views on contemporary art as well as gallery goers who may not “get” the art on exhibit. While the docents’ comments play on the soundtrack, Mundatas alternates between images of Los Angeles express-ways and still frames of interactions between visitors and guides.
