A troupe of male and female jugglers and musicians perform for a growing crowd in Central Park, New York, led by Hovey Burgess and Judy Finelli.  The sun is shining, and the troupe are skilful, playful, and flirtatious.  The crowd of children, parents, and office workers enjoy the show, and at the end happily throw money into the hat.

Burgess later wrote a seminal book on circus techniques, and has been dubbed founder of the "new circus movement".  Finelli went on to become artistic director of the Pickle Family Circus in San Francisco

"that was me! Back in 1969, juggling in Central Park with my old juggling partner, Hovey Burgess in the "Circo del 'Arte". He was arguably the founder of the "new circus movement" in the US. I taught circus classes with him across America in the 70s, then I was in the Pickle Family Circus and, with Circus Vargas. thanks for posting this! I will order it."

"I believe we are watching Hovey Burgess--he's the one with the beard. The woman to whom he is passing is likely Judy Finelli, his wife at the time, though the short clip here doesn't land on anyone's face long enough to see who else is in the video. Hovey and Judy were among the best jugglers in the US at this time; both are famous in circus/new vaudeville/physical theatre circles--he for teaching and writing a seminal book on circus techniques as well as joining the NYU faculty, and she for becoming artistic director of the Pickle Family Circus in San Francisco, among their many other accomplishments."
