The Luminous Image was an international exhibition of video installations held in the fall of 1984 at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. This videotape of the same name is an exceptional document that serves as an audiovisual catalog for the show, combining tours of the installations and short interviews with the artists, including: Marina Abramovic and Ulay, Vito Acconci, Max Almy, Dara Birnbaum, Michel Cardena, Brian Eno, Marie-Jo LaFontaine, Kees de Groot, Nan Hoover, Michael Klier, Shigeko Kubota, Thierry Kuntzel, Mary Lucier, Marcel Odenbach, Tony Oursler, Nam June Paik, Al Robbins, Lydia Schouten, Elsa Stansfield and Madelon Hooykaas, Francesc Torres, Bill Viola, and Robert Wilson.
