New Releases: Colectivo Los Ingrávidos

VDB is thrilled to announce the release of over 190 new titles from Colectivo Los Ingrávidos! Colectivo Los Ingrávidos (Tehuacán) is a Mexican film collective founded in 2012 to dismantle the commercial and corporate audiovisual grammar and its embedded ideology. The collective is inspired by the historical avant-gardes, and their commitment to using both form and content against alienating realities.

The Collective’s work features an assortment of visual styles and formats, and combines analog and digital mediums to produce compelling images and soundtracks. Much of their work disrupts historical narratives and addresses political action, including decolonization and social protest; their films reexamine collective memories and histories of patriarchal and capitalist regimes. Other themes such as Mesoamerican religious subject matter, philosophical meditations, and observations of the natural world, are woven throughout their films.

The Collective has provided a conceptual grouping of their films and videos as an entry point for new audiences.
